giving up on me

quite the contrary. am no way going to give up on me. hahah! but rather my flashbox tagboard has gave up on me. i only noticed it this morning that instead of someone greeting me, there’s this bunch of codes took it’s place. so having no knowledge of how to rectify the ‘wronged’ codes (i don’t know how that happened in the first place), visited the flashbox site but heh, i didn’t remember what username and password i had used before. so old cbox, here you go.

the last people who had greeted me would be Teach, cintatragika and kha, right? yeah, a KitKat break sounds nice!!

oklah, weekends been pretty hectic. yes. HECTIC WEEKEND. however, i felt that i did some good teaching last saturday, even though of course there are flaws, still learning here. but serious, i enjoyed teaching last saturday!! we’ll come to that later. go to learning teens

right after my 2 classes, i planned to rush back home, although i stayed back for almost an hour to see how Liyana’s getting on in her class, and a chitchat with the edu dept. for all who had known, yes, we are having some very challenging bunch of students and all of us teens trainers are very anxious how we could help Liyana. i personally find this class interesting, albeit them being terribly difficult. i know there’s a solution to this, and the search itself is a motivating factor.

so anyway, rushed back home, to catch Smallville (tak tahu season mana. but it’s the earlier seasons) and yes, HEROES!!! that’s a therapy. oh by the way, there’s no Supernatural on TV5 last friday!! hampeh!! instead there was the result show for American Idol. chet! and i was so looking forward to it! right, Teach?

started to do my reports and doing a two-page write up on our very own Prophet pbuh proved to be difficult. and we think we know him well enough, and i believe, to write about him does not depend on knowing his lifestory, those dates and battles, but something more. 2 page is definitely not enough to tell it all, no matter how brief i want it to be, i will end up thinking ‘maybe i should add this point’ ‘maybe this event should be conveyed’ and then i will go on read up my sources, and i found out something amazing about him and then i wouldn’t know how to include them in the write up because there’s too much information already and then need to consider the Objectives of the whole write-up. haven’t sleep for two nights already doing this. but it’s worth it.

and then sunday, went for a wedding at……Pontian Johor!! hehe, my very first trip outside Singapore since my convocation last August. Yes people, it had been THAT long!!! so i was unexplainably excited!! it was my mother’s colleague’s wedding and somehow, the plan which my mother and her friends had didn’t go quite well (biaser, ader jugak makcik2 yg ala-ala ‘bubble’ you know what i mean). you really want to know how the trip was?? the journey was truly upsetting if i may say. relating them here will be depressing.

but somehow the thought that i was actually travelling, dispelled any temperament, and trying to cool my mother and two of her good friends down, due to the ‘bubble-ness’ of their other friends, so me and my little sis Nuri tried to make the best out of it making jokes at even the smallest thing. and the weather was SCORCHING HOT la seh!!

still, it was something being away from work and singapore. now, how about that trip to KL this march?? hmmm, or just save up and go on August for their convocation???

orait~~~ continue working, yes, more late nights to come. but be comforted that this IS THE QUEST which i have been praying for to embark, and Lord has heard my prayers.
i shall not wither in this journey. so, no, not giving up on me yet.

on the road

alhamdulillah, i somehow felt better today. and i managed to focus on the tasks at hand with some zest!! truly.

and i was so on the road today at driving lesson!!! and only at the third lesson! i was taken by surprise when my instructor said we would be going on the road today! i said NO NOT YET! my last instructor reminded me to practice dring around the circuit (for the car kept going to the left and my turning needed better manouvring) so he said ok, we’ll try the circuit one or two rounds and THEN we’ll go on the real road OUTSIDE.

alas, i cannot worry about the road outside for soon my mind was concentrating on driving around and around turning and braking and it seriously felt good. instructor said driving’s getting better so off now we go!!

at 40km/h (which felt very fast!! haha) i drove alongside real drivers out there, stopping at red lights, braking just nicely before the white line, signalling before turning.

pusing pusing pusing tetahu dah kat ubi!! (dahlah anti-ubi kan…but couldn’t think about that) i was just so excited at the very idea am driving on real roads!!!

so oklah, hope to sleep in early tonight. early day tomorrow, another driving lesson and get back home as soon as possible to do my works + think up of some real activity for my teens classes.

not so poetic living

bring back the spirit in me
bring back the enthusiasm
bring back the energy
bring back the willingness
bring back the ability to think
for i need to think think think
and act act act

and yes i have not been eating right
i have not been resting well
not sleeping enough
not thinking right even
and soul-descending

i’m chasing time
i’m searching for me…again

OneNote

I am totally in love with Microsoft office OneNote!! It is one of the most brilliant ‘invention’ of Microsoft!! usable for students and working people. And i am so using OneNote at the moment, I cannot stop!!

it’s something like a diary/journal/calender and you are able to sort out your tasks, agendas, to do list, notes, personal information, plans, even travelling plans, all under ‘one roof’!!! and it’s useful to me for i can sort out my projects, my classes and whatnots at one place!!

brilliant stuff!

ummatic

one of the memories of iiu which really sticks to mind and built up one of the most unforgettable memories for most of us IIU-mates (provided that you have the normal mind enough to make yourself involved that is;)) is Ummatic Week.

saw all the pics from suli’s site and also rangga syah aka maryam syah…(rangga? suli? maryam?! ada kena mengena eh?? ahahahaa!! ok ok, drag.)

not much brainpower to actually blog.

well, ummatic week do bring up the realness in you. and how it can bring you to doing your very best. or you’ll see and realise who’s actually who. you know what i mean? it tests you emotionally and mentally, not forgetting physically. it shaped you. you’re opinionated, motivated and strengthened by those who stood by you, and give you a chance to prove to yourself that you are able to show them who we really are… you open yourself up to a whole lot of new attitudes, characters, different styles of thinking and working.. disappointment is a learning partner. and what makes it memorable…. just by being together. with our closest friends, with our countrymates, with our muslim brothers and sisters. pity those who did not see the beauty within the time and energy spent. truly.

IIU-mates, keep up the spirit! :))

laments of a learning teacher:
2 different teens class. same year. similar ages. TOTALLY DIFFERENT kinds of response.
however, i am truly happy with this morning’s class, which i was only relieving. i actually felt like i’m teaching today, that the students are gaining something. i do. very commendable class. they joked, they tried to ‘rule’ the first half hour, but then they sobered, and they actually listened! y.a class was cool, i got to join in the discussion, and they actually looked up and listened to my brief renditions of ibnu khaldun’s theory of civilizational phases on the Umayyads in Spain.

yesterday’s class however…. was a huge contrast. i think i spent a whole hour trying to manage the class. it’s not hell, but need more work in that. seriously. at the end of the day, it was such a relief that i got through 2 and a half hour class ALIVE and BREATHING. and these two are not even my real classes~

again, i like teaching this morning’s class.

so learning, babe, so learning.

progress check : 9/ read THE books, esp on ancient civilizations for y.a
well, on civilzations, though, the rest of the towering books….untouched.

monologues

everybody’s keeping secrets….uwwekkkk
and how come never see some people online anymore??? staying ‘offline’ is it everybody?? or i go online at the wrong time?
and girls, i want to meet you girls, but i don’t know how to organize? and the iiu peeps going back to iiu already?? got time or not??? got time or not??
and when am i going to finish reading?? honestly, i am sick of reading already! haha!!
nak tengok movie aahh!!
and this chronic family is dysfunctional at 10 pm! my romo’s sitting at his favourite spot at the balcony listening to his neverending malay jiwang tangkap lentok songs! and my little sis trying to irritate him with her npcc stories. and my ratu’s singing along to karaoke lagu tak tahu zaman biler la, my other sis is playing her imagninary drums made up of hmmmmm, pillows. and here i am witnessing it all. you would think it’s early in the morning.

at the end of the day, they’re still my family. i love them.

http://media.imeem.com/m/08hZtEPyLt/aus=false/

tengoklaa, out of boredom, found these songs, and because my ratu-tak tahu angin-apa has been listening to them. ni dah zaman 80-an pulak~~ tapi…lagu ni kita dengar kan masa kecik2 dulu kan?? haha..

any progress?

you see, it IS very very useful to have this action plan.
you can always look back on it, see whether you have done them. check them out of the list when you’ve completed the job, and go on to the next one. I suddenly feel organized. and you really feel like you’re doing something useful.
so now……

4/ prepare some materials for teens notice board
5/ prepare the transliteration for assembly doa — though this is handwritten

the rest?? guess i’ll have to do the during the weekends~~~
6/ read up on work which am doing with Teach, now baptised as ‘concept review- C.R’
7/ research on transliteration matters
8/ report H-Primers
9/ read THE books, esp on ancient civilizations for y.a
10/ do some blogskinning for teens and my sisters.
