Alhamdulillah, this chaotic week has ended!! The week with one of the most challenging, trying, and simply put: menguji kesabaran that I have ever faced three years in IIUM.
1. UniSports Carnival
Halimah’s side: Only the Table tennis team managed to grab the second place, after years of being champion! And we lost Hockey, and the rest, well it’s just disappointing and most of the players left with despair. Is there anyone to blame? NO. No One. every one tried very hard and performed their best. They even did trainings two days before the tournaments, but I guess, luck wasn’t on our side. Most of us were not ready at all for the games. No. None could focus. I’m disappointed that we couldn’t live up to our championship of last year. I don’t know what went wrong. And it was my goal to try and maintain the top place!! But failing isn’t everything.
The only one good news we had was that we won the FIRST place for MARCHING!!! This win is FOR ALL OF MAHALLAH HALIMAH’S TEAMS. THIS IS FOR YOU!! The admittedly last minute handling of marching, in debt for the dress, the difficulties in searching for marchers, all the obstacles throughout the training for the marchers, it’s paid of, and surprise surprise, I AM one of the marchers. Believe it or not, laugh it off if you want to, but yes for the first time ever, I was marching!! HAHA. And learning all the steps in one night! Yes, One night. I’m amazed myself that I can actually march and be in rythm with the rest. Maybe because I’d been with them throughout their trainings that maybe I built up the ability for marching just by being with them all night long. Heh it’s quite easy actually.
And the feeling was EUPHORIC!! Especially when we did our unique steps. It’s SPLENDID!! AWESOME!!
And Halimah won because of those cool steps, even though we actually wore more or less the same suit that we wore last year and surprise surprise, Many of the other sisters’ mahallahs actually follow in our footsteps last year. They do REALLY LEARN FROM US~ But hey we did first, you girls are just following us, like those silky shiny dresses you all wore. the ‘crown’ on the head. white pants. international students wearing traditional cloths (there was one wearing a kimono and why in the whole world the rector commented her a geisha??) And thank ALLAH, we did not wear the yellow selempang that we first thought of, because there were like 5 of the contingents wearing that!!! And again, copycats!!! Because we wore those yellow selempangs during the Merdeka marching when Halimah was the only contingent who was in unity. Cheh!
So OK, we all win fairplay. And Halimah is queen of marching~ No doubt. Love them.
Before ending that, perlulah The organizer changed the time for the Closing Ceremony to 3pm!! Instead of 8pm per usual!!! Because of one very IMPORTANT person!!! important your head.
All these in the midst of everything else.
Going to Singapore Tourism Board for assistance for our booth on Ummatic Week. spending RM50 for the transport.
Being the Asst. Director 2 for Closing Ceremony and which I did a terrible mistake leaving the two guys Tawfique and Faizal on their own during the two day auditions. But I can’t do otherwise, since I’m IN the marching.
A mid term test on thursday for dear dr Kamar and which she only told us on the tuesday of the same week!! And there was no protest from my classmates!! I came in 5 minutes late and the decisions made and it so happened most of the budak pandais of the class was absent! They would have the smartness to say something!
And oh yeah, an assignment due this week and oh my god!! There’s another one due this tuesday!!
And yes, I have to say this is IIU at its most stupid period~
this to be continued~~~~~~~
