nama beta…

been silent for almost a week…but i had had a great week so far, alhamdulillah!

despite the tonnnnnneeessss of work i left behind, i had stayed true to my word..which is, to come down to IIUM, for my friends’ convo and have a short holiday as well. and yes i did just that!!

i had truly truly been looking forward to this short trip, i thought i just had to run away for awhile. and it did good.

so anyway…rindu uia terubat juga…and feeling tourist kat KL, haha, even though there’s some people i didn’t get to meet and some places i didn’t get to go!!

reached KL sunday afternoon, settled down for awhile at good old Ancasa, had some bite and wandered along Petaling Street. Later that evening, met with Aili and parents. we went to our Mak Long’s flat at Cheras. AND as Aili said…for the price of a cheesecake, we had to climbed up 11 or was it 12 flights of uneven stairs!!

but mak long and pak ngah was more than happy to have us here and even though we’re crammed in a small living room, it felt nice. like a family bonded closer. there’s my three cousins- kak nita, kak mala & ogy + aili and the two young guys are ogy’s sons, haris and ikmal definitely growing up to be handsome men.

and monday was The day. well, their day. the convocation. and me yang menyibuk and my mother who’s extra happening that day. congratulating at just about everyone who’s wearing the convo robe. hehe. bought some roses for the girls. me and mam waited right at the entrance, followed by huda and fathul, izhar’s fiancee and little brother. as soon as the first batch of graduates came out we were just shouting ‘congrats’ and i could just see the surprise those graduates had. like where do that voice come from??

anyway saw some friends, even my very first roommate Nadir. they were surprise to find me there but i’m happy getting to meet them and sharing this big day. tak tahulah bila lagi dapat jumpa diorang…..

after the shots and the sprays and more shouts and laughters, we celebrated the graduates. siapa tak datang HS hari tu, rugi, tak dapat join in the fun! hehehe. singaporeans had always ruled HS. *wished my convo last year was this fun!* ahhh, nak convo lagi ah! 😉

and the rest of monday was spent shopping with my mother! at masjid india.

not forgetting, the Theatre at Universiti Malaya! “2 Jam sebelum Sultan Alauddin Syahid diracun” fuuh, i got my dose of Malay history that night. it’s a monologue-dialogue kind of theatre and as a first timer, it was a good experience. the theatre was not about costumes and grand props, but more on content and emotions played by the actors, their body language. to me, they were good. thank you Teach for inviting us to watch the theatre. even though it was way not what we expected, to me, i loved it, with the little theatrical knowledge which i have. it’s definitely enriching, i didn’t realize how ‘cool’ Malay history was and now i wanted to read more on it! it’s exciting now, come to think of it.

oh another thing, what was interesting about this theatre, was how cynical and satirical it was in relating some scenes to the media and political hiatus the neighbouring country is having these days. all in bitter truth.

and this night of theatre, was one of the times which i truly believed in how some things are not out of coincidence. as though it had been planned as such, as though there’s some entity playing jigsaw puzzle and putting everything in its place so rightfully. but this is not for public storytelling. 😉

and tuesday was a more relaxed day for me and mam. the journey to and fro was smooth. the days filled with humbleness and gratitude, i’m just so glad that we managed to have this trip. i really am.

parting note: congrats to you guys for graduating. all those hard work and challenges. and now able to say “THIS IS IT!”.

and who can ever not miss this place?
