Yesterday was National Day – 40 years of Singapore’s independence!! And we are away from home!!! No national day parade!! But no regrets because we’re having our own celebration, our own way, with a twist- Home Away from Home~

It was nice and a success, considering the attendance from the Singapore students and from excos part, only one week preparation!! But it was great! Congrats to excos for the only one week preparation!! Every part of it!!There’s the special performance from brothers which were very much a surprise, because even we, exco sisters do not know what it was going to be about…but they sure know how to act, and another surprise was the involvement from two senior brothers, which was quite rare, in fact. Kudos to brothers, you guys are somewhat the stars.

Another cool thing was a flash presentation, prepared by a non-singaporean friend, Usama/Asier!! A presentation on all the activities that ASSIIUM had organized, the singapore students who had contributed alot to IIUM such as in societies like IRKHS’S, Lawsoc, Mahallah committee and a lot more. And all our names on the clip. Very nice. A great idea that was!! Thanks Usama!!

And later we had a sing along session. That Taufik song, Reach for the skies or something, sorry, but I haven’t been much updated on the music scene. A nice song anyway. And the surprise for the night……………a big nice cake for everyone!!! And everyone was happy. Thanks to all for coming…we hope the night will be a memorable night being home away from home~
